Lauren + Teddy – The Church of St. Michael & St. George and the St. Louis Country Club Wedding

Lauren and Teddy’s wedding at The Church of St. Michael and St. George on a lovely day in May was the culmination of a series of  knots that have bound this couple together since before they were born.  Both their families have been members of St. Michael and St. George’s for generations, and not only were their grandparents both married here, but Lauren and Teddy were each baptized and confirmed here as well.  There was about this wedding a great sense of history and harmony that gave their marriage an air of inevitability and permanence.  I just loved that.  Naturally it was the groom’s first cousin and best friend (and best man) who introduced them, but, really, anyone could tell that they had been waiting for each other all of their lives.

The day began at Lauren’s mom’s house with all of the bridesmaids helping Lauren get ready.  Everyone was relaxed and having a lovely time thanks to Jessie from Kristin Ashley Events.  I was delighted to see Danielle Style and her team of talented helpers there doing all of the hair and makeup which always looks so natural; plus Danielle always runs on time , which is a great help to us photographers who usually have a list of “must-have” posed photographs to be completed.  Lauren loved being surrounded by all of her family and closest friends many of whom took turns buttoning her into beautiful gown by Judd Wadell from Fleur de Lis Bridal.  The bridesmaid’s pretty periwinkle blue gowns by LulaKate from Bella Bridesmaids were the perfect compliment to the gorgeous bouquets they carried and all the arrangements at  the church and reception designed by Ken Meisner.

The reception that followed at St. Louis Country Club was held in a beautiful Traube tent overlooking the polo field.  Colorful striped napkins on the pretty blue tablecloths from Exclusive Events were the perfect foil for Ken Meisner’s gorgeous flowers, all of which was artfully illuminated by Aries Lighting.  After cutting their pretty cake from Sugaree Bakery, Lauren and Teddy listened to heartfelt toasts which brought them both to tears.  And then everyone celebrated by dancing the rest of the night to the wonderful sounds of The Gold Coast Band from Chicago.

This was a couple that everyone loved working for – thoughtful and kind to everyone around them.  Lauren and Teddy, two such fine people, will very clearly have a strong and happy marriage.  This is what I pray for my children.
